Mawj Natural Wines – A New Wave of Lebanese Winemaking
Mawj, meaning "wave" (موج) in Arabic, is inspired by the Mediterranean Sea and Lebanon's ancient winemaking heritage. Produced in the coastal village of Edde, Batroun, Mawj wines combine minimal-intervention winemaking with carefully farmed vineyards overlooking the sea.
Every bottle is crafted in small quantities using wild indigenous yeasts, spontaneous fermentation, natural stabilization and minimal sulfites. The wines are unfiltered, free from additives, and fermented in stainless steel tanks without oak, allowing each grape variety and the coastal terroir to express themselves naturally.
The collection currently includes:
Mawj Lunatic – An ever-evolving Mediterranean white blend, fresh, crisp and vibrant.
Mawj Grenache – 100% Grenache with silky texture, herbal aromas and velvety tannins.
Mawj Mourvèdre – 100% Mourvèdre offering dark fruit, elegance and remarkable depth.
Inspired by the French philosophy of "Un Vin de Copains", Mawj wines are approachable, expressive and made to be shared around the table with friends and family. Whether paired with Mediterranean cuisine, seafood, grilled meats or enjoyed on their own, Mawj represents a fresh generation of Lebanese natural wines with a distinctly coastal identity.
