Chateau St. Thomas

Founded in 1990, Château St. Thomas is the masterpiece of Saïd Touma, a passionate man with more than 55 years of experience in distilling and fermenting grape juice, who has the heritage of making arak, and his son Joe-Assaad, an agronomist and winemaker. He continues the family tradition with the same passion for making great wines.
He and his five children founded the winery, which today towers majestically over the valley, and named it Chateau St. Thomas (Arabic: Mar Touma) in reference to his family name.
In 1998, the first vintage was pressed, and in 1999, the wines came onto the market. The noble grape varieties grown (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc), as well as the indigenous grape varieties such as Obeidy, are accustomed to the climatic conditions and geological peculiarities of the Bekaa Valley.

Annual production is 1 million bottles, of which 70 % are exported. The main customers are Europe and Canada. In addition, Clos St. Thomas also produces the first-class arak according to a long family tradition.
